TALK ABOUT ENFORCED JOURNALISM: A BRIDE-TO-BE MAKES MOI BOOK ABOUT HER WEDDING THIS WEEKEND!

MICHELLE BAUTISTA WRITES IN, SECONDLY:

If a poetry book were like a wedding day:

An extension of Tabios' marriage to Poetry from her Six Directions Project, each poem takes the reader down the aisle. A touching and moving progression of personal to public transformation. Initially veiled, the readers find themselves moved to tears with each word touching upon yet another layer of emotion. The poems reveal themselves, finally clothing and binding themselves to the reader. Marriage is indeed two ways: the poems commit themselves to the reader. In the end, Tabios asks, "til death do you part, for sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live" and you cannot help but exclaim, "I do! I do! I do!" Please pass the tissue.
